BAGHDAD - A suspected Al Qaeda in Iraq suicide bomber smashed a truck loaded with TNT and toxic chlorine gas into a police checkpoint in Ramadi yesterday, killing at least 27 people.

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - A man who was interrogated and had his home searched by authorities investigating the deaths of four Atlantic City prostitutes was arrested yesterday on an unrelated charge.

Terry Oleson, 34, a former part-time hotel handyman, was charged with invasion of privacy in the secret videotaping of a nude teenage girl, prosecutors said.

MEXICO CITY - Hundreds of girls at a Mexican boarding school run by Catholic nuns have been struck by a mystery illness that authorities say is psychological, raising questions about conditions at the academy.

The headmistress said yesterday it was unclear what had caused the symptoms, which include difficulty walking and nausea. "We really don't know the cause, but the diagnosis by health authorities is of a psychological ailment," she said.

EL PASO, Tex. - Ninety-eight percent of the illegal immigrants arrested along the Mexico border from Oct. 1, 2000, to Sept. 30, 2005, were never prosecuted for illegally entering the country, according to an analysis of federal data.

Those 5.2 million immigrants were simply escorted back across the Rio Grande and turned loose. Many presumably tried to slip into the U.S. again.

The Walt Disney Co. had limited its Fairy Tale Wedding program to couples with valid marriage licenses, but it is now making ceremonies at its parks available to gay couples as well. The company made the change after being contacted by a gay couple who wanted to use the wedding service, which offers ceremonies at Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disney's cruise ships.
