EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - A registered sex offender who admits he offered a woman prescription painkillers and cash in exchange for nude photos of her 9-year-old daughter was sentenced Thursday to 11 years in prison.

Madison County Circuit Judge James Hackett sentenced Ronald Atwood, 57, of Granite City, three months after Atwood pleaded guilty to soliciting child pornography.

Atwood gave the woman the drugs and a Polaroid camera to take the photos, allegedly described what poses he wanted. But instead of taking the pictures, the woman called Granite City police.
